Dental trauma
What to do in case of a physical injury to the teeth?
When your child experiences physical trauma to the teeth, it can be a cause for concern. At Tandenfeest, we understand the importance of quick action to minimize damage and discomfort.
If your child experiences a chipped or broken tooth, try to locate the missing pieces and bring them to a dental office as soon as possible.
In case of a knocked-out primary (baby) tooth don’t try to reinsert it back. Place it in a container of milk or saliva and bring it to a dental office immediately.
In case of a knocked-out of a permanent (adult) tooth, rinse it with milk or saliva (not water) and try very gently to reinsert it into the socket, or place it in a container of milk or saliva and bring it to the dental office immediately.
It’s important to remember that any dental trauma should be examined by a dental professional, even if there is no visible damage.
